Issue 14 (2024) of the journal Studia ad Didacticam Scientiarum Socialium Pertinentia focuses on an interdisciplinary analysis of contemporary social services, highlighting their growing importance in the context of social, economic, and geopolitical transformations. The articles included in this volume address issues related to the management of social services, including the functioning of social services centers as new institutions of local policy, the development of services for dependent individuals and those in crisis situations, as well as educational aspects concerning the preparation and support of educational system personnel. The authors reflect on social services as a field of multiprofessional activities, analyzing them within broader social, legal, and environmental contexts. The entire issue constitutes an attempt to present the dynamic directions of development of social services in Poland and Europe, their role in shaping social order, and their significance for social policy and social pedagogy in an evolving societal landscape.
