Konteksty polityki społecznej w ramach prezydencji Polski w Radzie Unii Europejskiej

Abstract

The Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union lasted in the first half of 2025. under the slogan "Security, Europe!" This security was understood not only in the military context and the threat of armed conflict (e.g. war), but also concerned various areas, including the living conditions and sense of security of EU citizens, economic and health security. The Polish Presidency decided to support activities strengthening European security in all its dimensions: external, internal, informational, economic, energy, food and health.

The aim of this article is to analyse the plans and assumptions in the area of social security implemented under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. To this end, the activities of the Council of the EU aimed at specific social groups (e.g. older people, immigrants) and issues related to the protection of human rights and the rule of law, gender equality, labour rights, health security, social dialogue, education, sport and culture have been analysed in depth. The article verifies and evaluates those areas that have resulted in the adoption and adoption of specific initiatives, action plans, programs or documents.
